Customer Make – The Elegance Tote Bag Sewing Pattern

I wanted to show you another fab make from one of my new customers. Theresa, who lives in Australia, very kindly shares her version of the Elegance Tote Bag sewing pattern. Isn’t it just so gorgeous, really well made and I love that fabric!

“I have just finished my first Elegance tote bag. I used recycled fabric for the main fabric and contrast fabric. The floral fabric is a small piece I found in an opportunity shop (charity shop). There was just enough of it to make this bag. The buttons are from a tin of old buttons my mother gave me”

“It’s a great pattern to work with – very clear instructions and the pattern pieces are simple and easy to work with. I will become more confident as I make more bags with your designs.” Theresa

As well as bag making, Theresa also enjoys sewing the most delightful soft toys and cushions for family and friends – elephants, pigs, giraffes, puppies, owls, lamas and more. They are seriously cute!  Please visit Theresa’s Facebook page at Seams Different to see all her lovely handmade items. I love the modern, vibrant fabrics used as well as the vintage finds…

“I also love using recycled fabrics that I find in second hand shops or that people give me. A wonderful online vintage fabric supplier here in Australia is Retro Age Vintage Fabrics. They ship round the world.” Theresa

Amazing work! Thanks for giving us a little window into your world, love your crafts. Find out more at Seams Different on Facebook.

Customer News – Fabulous Handmade Handbag

I received a lovely email from Sarah (Hunting For Ladybugs on Etsy), who has followed my Amelia Pleated Handbag sewing pattern to make the most delightful handbag. I’m very pleased to be able to share it here with you, by kind permission from Sarah.

I think the use of denim for the top bands and handle looks amazing, next to the gorgeous main body fabric. Bright, vibrant fabrics are a top favourite of mine. What a quality piece of work! As you can tell, I just love it!

”Just  thought I’d send you a photo of your Amelia pleated bag pattern that I finally got around to making this morning. I used denim for around the bands and I didn’t have any of the strap hardware so I just left it out.  I’m pleased with how I turned out. Thanks again.” Sarah
